Job description:
Join our team as a Fire Truck Driver/Operator, supporting base operations. You will be responsible for maintaining a state-issued driver’s license and obtaining certifications for operating all fire apparatus at the base. The role involves inspecting and ensuring the readiness of fire vehicles, conducting pump service tests, and participating in fire suppression and rescue operations. You may also be temporarily assigned as Lead Firefighter, assisting in training personnel for future roles.
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and fitness.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
- Knowledge of local roads and routes.
- Continuing education in emergency vehicle operation.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate fire trucks to respond to emergency calls.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to maintain skills and knowledge.
- Position fire trucks strategically at emergency scenes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of fire trucks.
- Provide reassurance and support to victims of emergencies.
Additional requirements
- A valid passport for at least 2 years.
- Conversational proficiency in English.
- Age up to 60 years.
- Diploma/certificate (optional).
Accommodation and support
You will be met at the airport or bus station. Afterward, you will be accommodated in a hostel, apartment, or house, depending on what the employer rents for the workers. You will be provided with work clothes for free and transportation to work.
